Space and Efficiency:
While the harp is larger than most smaller instruments, it is a space-efficient option for receptions, especially in comparison to larger ensembles such as string quartets or bands. Kari only requires an assigned parking spot for unloading and reloading her harp along with the designated spot for Kari's to comfortably perform comfortably fit (6ft x 6ft space).
Kari is generally self-sufficient and is able to move her equipment, including the harp by herself. However, there are times when she may need extra help, (rough terrain, steps, weather conditions etc.). Please make sure there is at least two strong and able people to help and available upon her arrival and departure. You will be surprised at how quickly Kari can set up and be ready to perform.
*Please note that the harp can not be in direct sun, nor in drizzle, rain or snow as the harp will be substantially damaged. Kari will be happy to seamlessly move indoors.
Acoustic and Portable:
The harp is an acoustic stringed instrument which doesn't require extensive amplification, making it a natural fit for any venue where amplified music might not be desired nor feasible. The sound of the harp can travel a lot further than you might imagine. The harp reverberates into the musician making the harp and Kari one big sound box together. Kari offers amplification if needed, as she owns a portable cord-free amplifier. Please feel free to discuss your amplification needs and she will be happy to accommodate you.
Depending upon amplification needs and light, electricity may be needed. Please discuss with Kari your desired spot with the items above in mind. Kari desires to be as accommodating as possible.
